In order to prevent humidity from entering your climate controlled cellar and to prevent mold growth, you must have a properly installed vapor barrier.

In addition, all cooling system manufacturers require a vapor barrier be installed to keep warranty in effect.

Do I need a cooling system for my cellar?

A very good question!

If your collection consists of mainly table wines, you may not need a cooling system. However, if you are cellaring red wines for extended periods of time, you really do need to control both the temperature and humidity of your cellar.
